Ulysses is a Director of Business Development for the Technology & Innovation Development Office (TIDO) at Boston Children’s Hospital and comes with nearly a decade of deal-making experience at MGB Innovation where he managed a high-value portfolio of technology assets. Ulysses has negotiated hundreds of research agreements and licenses including deals with dozens of startups.
Ulysses completed 4.5 years of postdoctoral research training at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he worked with Professor Tayyaba Hasan, PhD, to develop photoactivatable prodrugs and fluorophores for the treatment and diagnosis of disease.
Ulysses earned both a PhD and MS in Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. Working with Professor Thomas Chen, PhD, he created and characterized transgenic fish producing an antimicrobial peptide for enhanced disease resistance and further characterized antimicrobial peptide resistance mechanisms in fish bacterial pathogens. Ulysses also earned a BS in Zoology with a minor in Photography from the University of Rhode Island at Kingston.
