Alan joined TIDO in 2010 and leads TIDO’s licensing and business development teams to advance hospital’s technology commercialization efforts. Alan aims to make Boston Children’s Hospital the partner of choice for industry and to develop and optimize strategies and processes to ensure productive, efficient and mutually beneficial interactions between industry and the hospital.

Prior to joining Boston Children’s, Alan managed technology licensing at the University of Washington in Seattle and was responsible for technologies in genomics and proteomics, cardiovascular and brain imaging, computational protein and vaccine design, pharmacogenetics and digital and information technology assets.

Prior to the UW, Alan was a scientist and director of business development at LifeSpan Biosciences, an antibody reagent and molecular pathology service company. Alan has a BS from the University of California, Davis, a PhD from the University of Washington, and completed his postdoctoral research in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University.
